RICHEST WILD HORSE COMPETITION IN HISTORY COMES TO FORT WORTH
$100,000 offered to more than 100 trainers

TEAM EXTREME MUSTANG MAKEOVER MARKS AN EVOLUTION
Clinic/Competition Concept Wave of the Future

Georgetown, Texas - The Team Extreme Mustang Makeover marked a turning point, of sorts, for both the participating trainers and the Extreme Mustang Makeover initiative as nearly 40 horsemen made their way to Fort Collins, Colo., to work with world champion Al Dunning and nationally known clinician Ken McNabb in a team concept that also offered individual recognition.

Like other Extreme Mustang Makeover events, the competition climaxed with a freestyle finals held Saturday, June 12 at the B.W. Pickett Equine Center on the campus of Colorado State University. The crowd came in anticipation of a final that the Makeover has become known for and the 12 finalists didn't disappoint.

THE DEACON PREACHES A SERMON AT THE EXTREME TRAIL CHALLENGE
Win garners a $2,500 paycheck

Georgetown, Tex., May 17 - It's the quiet ones you've got to watch out for. The Deacon, a well-made American Mustang trained by Gary Wedemeyer of Winton, Calif., seemed to come out of nowhere to preach a sermon on the talents of a wild horse with 90 days training. It was sermon one could believe in as the five-year-old gelding went on to take the win in the $9,000 Extreme Mustang Makeover Trail Challenge in Norco, Calif.

The Norco event encompassed more elements than any other Extreme Mustang Makeover held this season. Requiring mustangs and their trainers to not only compete in the routine body conditioning, as well as in hand and under saddle obstacle courses, the Extreme Trail Challenge did what it names suggests - challenged horses on the trail.
